List of Regulated Products
We can accompany you in the issuance of your Certificate of Conformity (COC) for all Food Products you wish to import in Saudi Arabia including the mandatory products from specific products designed by the Saudi Food and Drugs Authority:
Egypt:
a. Frozen and processed fruits and vegetables
b. Dairy products (including cheese)
Jordan:
a. All food products from animal or plant sources
Sudan:
a. Beef
b. Sheep meat
c. Camel meat
Sri Lanka:
a. Tea
India:
a. Sesame (Sesame products comply with the approved specifications of pesticides, especially that they are free of the pesticide (ethylene oxide)
b. Sheep and buffaloes meat
c. Rice
d. Processed fruits and vegetables
Somalia:
a. Beef
b. Sheep meat
c. Camel meat
Starting on 15th July 2021:
A mandatory COC will be required for all consignments of fresh vegetables, fruits, agricultural crops, and spices exported from Egypt, India, and Jordan that prove their compliance with the technical regulations and standards approved by the SFDA, especially:
Technical regulation SFDA.FD 382 "maximum limits for pesticide residues in agricultural products Food".
Technical regulation GSO 1016 "microbiological standards for commodities and foodstuffs"
With regard to Egyptian products, in addition to the above, the COC must prove that a laboratory test for the hepatitis A virus (Hepatitis A) has been performed.
Prohibited and Restricted Products
The initial list of food products under the scope does not include certain Products such as but, not limited to:
- Swine and its meat, blood and all extracted from it
- Frog meat
- Foodstuff and preparations from animal blood
- Wines and intoxicants that contain alcoholic substances
- Nutmeg fruit, seeds and powder
- Products including Pork and Pork products
Labelling Requirements
All food products need marking / labeling as per GSO 9 requirements. All the details of marking by product category will have to be available for specific food products.
