As a trusted partner of the Saudi Arabian government we would like to share with you a labelling update received from SFDA regarding cosmetics that look like food products.

As a trusted partner of the Saudi Arabian government we would like to share with you the labelling requirements stated by the SFDA regarding cosmetics that look like food products.

In reference to the Royal Decree No. (M/49) and its implemented regulations, the Saudi Food and Drugs Authority (SFDA) has stated that cosmetic products that are similar to food products in shape or packaging should be mentioned.

Therefore, manufactures, importers and exporters of bathing products, shower foams, hand soap or other cosmetics product that may look like food products and make it hard for children to make the difference, will have to add the following:

Add on packaging in the warning section of the product identification card the phrase “Keep out of Children’s reach”

Note that products that do not contain this phrase as of as of 1st January 2022, and statutory penalties will be considered as infringing products and statutory penalties will be applied to them.
