New Requirements for MIM Industrial Approval

Update on Product List and HS Codes that require MIM industrial approval

Effective from May 10, 2023, an important update will occur regarding the requirements for obtaining MIM (Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources) industrial approval in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization (SASO) has recently added a list of products and corresponding HS codes that now require MIM industrial approval. This crucial update aims to enhance the quality and safety standards of these products in the Saudi market.

Procedure for Obtaining MIM Industrial Approval:

To streamline the process of obtaining MIM industrial approval, the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources (MIM) has outlined the following steps that must be followed:

1. Form Submission:

  • Local and importers must fill the form in Arabic.
  • The completed form manufacturers should be submitted to the Ministry via email at SFC@mim.gov.sa

2. Approval Confirmation:

  • The Ministry will review the submitted forms and notify the client of the approval status through SFC@mim.gov.sa
  • It is essential for clients to share the email containing the approval confirmation for verification purposes.

3. Verification Process:

  • Our technical team will verify both the email received and the barcode of the approved form.
  • Only after successful verification will we proceed with issuing the Supplier's Conformity Assessment Certificate (SCOC) through the SABER portal.
