The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) has announced a new technical regulation regarding Self Ballasted LED lamps that have a capacity of over 60 watts.
The lighting product (Self-Ballasted LED-Lamp) with a capacity higher than 60 Watts, which falls under customs code 854370900010 does not fall under the IECEE scope.
Therefore, SASO has announced that approved authorities such as Cotecna can issue a Certificate of Conformity (COC) through the SABER platform after fulfilling the assessment process. In addition to the usual conformity requirements, an Energy Efficiency Certificate will be required.
