SASO Implements Mandatory MIM Industrial Approval for SCOC Issuance

SASO will now require an MIM (Ministry of Industrial and Mineral Resources) Approval before SCOC issuance as of 31st July 2022.

The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) will now require a MIM Industrial Approval for 4 product categories. As of 31st July 2022, suppliers will need to submit an MIM Industrial Approval form in Arabic to obtain the mandatory Shipment Certificate of Conformity (SCOC).

The SCOC is mandatory for every shipment of products exported to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Cotecna is accredited by SASO issue a Product Certificate of Conformity (PCOC) and the SCOC.

The MIM Industrial Approval is an industrial audit tool regulated by the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources.

To apply for the MIM Industrial Approval, please follow these steps:

  1. Fill out and submit the MIM Industrial Approval form (in Arabic) to the Ministry on their email SFC@mim.gov.sa
  2. The Ministry will send you the approval through SFC@mim.gov.sa
  3. Forward the email to Cotecna for verification.
  4. After verification, Cotecna issues you the SCOC.
